In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create a realistic fountain VFX simulation inside Unreal Engine 5.3 using Niagara and fluid simulation techniques. We’ll cover everything from setting up particle emitters to creating splashes, foam, and water ripples for a cinematic and game-ready effect. Whether you’re a beginner or an intermediate user, this step-by-step guide will help you master water effects inside UE5.3.
We will start by creating a basic water geocache in 3Ds Max using Phoenix FD and tyFlow. You can use any additional programs instead —Houdini, Blender, etc. Then, I’ll show you how to create animated procedural water shaders and Niagara water effects.
This downloadable training series contains 1 hour and 18 minutes of video to help you get up and running with Unreal VFX techniques and toolsets. It is perfect for a beginner or any Unreal user who wants to work more quickly.
The course contains only water VFX simulation without an environment.
The course should have something for everyone, no matter the skill level. It is definitely well suited to give newcomers a great base to build on while also having a little gem here and there for everyone who has done similar things for years already.
